High performance router CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ
The CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ is a powerful 14-port router for 100 gigabit networks with hardware L3 offload. It is an ideal upgrade for CCR1072 users. You can still use your SFP modules and power supplies when upgrading your network to faster speeds.
16-core AL73400 processor
MikroTik's CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ router is based on a 16-core AL73400 processor at 2 GHz, which can match the 72-core Tile processor from its previous flagship, the CCR1072, thanks to the L3HW.
25 Gbps and 100 Gbps ports
The router has 2 QSFP28 ports for 100Gbps connections, 12 SFP28 ports for 25Gbps network connections and one Gigabit Ethernet port. The device features 16GB of RAM, 128MB of NAND memory and two M.2 SATA slots for additional memory. The CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ also has four fans and two redundant, hot-swappable power supplies. The power supplies are the same as those used in the CCR1072.
L3 Hardware Offloading
L3HW hardware offloading , also known as IP switching or hardware routing, allows some router functions to be moved to the switch chip. This allows for speeds in packet routing that simply would not be possible with a processor.
Marvell Prestera Aldrin2
Marvell Prestera 's unique Aldrin2 switch chip really takes the CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ to the next level with L3 hardware offload. The previous CCR2116 had a switch chip with four lines connecting a 10G processor, while the new model has four 25G lines.
